PASTORAL POSITION AVAILABLE Academy Christian Church of Colorado Springs, CO is seeking candidates for the full-time position of Pastor of Discipleship who will be responsible to serve as part of the preaching team, lend vision, direction, and collaboration with other pastors for adult discipleship and spiritual formation, and provide pastoral counseling and care as needed. They will create and lead opportunities for small and large spiritual development. Oversee marriage ministry, adult connect groups, men’s ministry, and collaborate with outreach efforts with the Evangelism and Outreach pastor. They will oversee and lead ACC Membership class and recruit, train, and affirm volunteer teams for aspects of ministries outlined above. This position requires the measurable spiritual gifts of teaching and leadership. The mission of Academy Christian Church is to “Create Christ followers who create Christ followers” The purpose of this position is to provide and implement a discipleship plan for the people of ACC.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• Called into full-time ministry and passionate about reaching the lost for Christ.
• Consistent display of pastor/shepherd’s heart when interacting with fellow staff, congregation and members of the community.
• Attention to detail and the ability to develop, manage, and inspire volunteer teams.
• Creative natural abilities to develop and implement programing that encourages adult discipleship.
• Excellent and gifted communication skills: written, verbal, individually and in front of a group.
• Team player with the ability to collaborate with pastors, staff, and ministry leaders.
• Education and Experience
  • This position requires a minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience as a staff member in a ministry leadership capacity.
  • Possession of a minimum Bachelor's Degree in Biblical studies or related fields is required. (Extensive ministry experience, in some cases, can be substituted.)
  • The successful individual will be a strong leader with a solid work ethic and the ability to administrate as a department head.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, church management software, web configuration/maintenance, and other related applications are preferred.
